At Medium Rare we pride ourselves on providing all our customers with great meat and poultry that has been reared with the animals welfare and the quality of the food as our priorities. Whether we deliver to your shop, restaurant or you buy direct from one of our meat counters, all our meat and poultry is the very best we can rear and provide to you. Rearing and sourcing the finest British meats for you with complete traceability is an integral part of the Medium Rare philosophy.

Our farmers produce free-range, naturally finished meats that are reared using traditional methods to the highest of animal welfare standards. We believe contented, happy animals that are given time to mature, will produce succulent, richly flavoured meats.

All animals are slaughtered in as stress free an environment as is possible. We also use local slaughter houses to minimise unnecessary discomfort and keep food miles to a minimum. Medium Rare ensures all its products are delivered in prime condition having been hung appropriately to maximise taste and tenderness.

The people behind the business

George Finch and Robert Mercer met at Newcastle University where George read Agriculture Business & Economics and Rob read Agriculture.

Upon leaving University Rob returned to the family business to set up and launch Packington Pork, which is now fully established as a Brand Leading producer of free range pigs. After time served in the Investment Banking markets in London, George returned to his farming roots to assist with the launch of Bretby Lamb.

Both Rob and George then founded the umbrella company, Medium Rare which supplies Pork, Lamb, Beef and Poultry produce to a rapidly expanding customer base throughout the UK. From local Butchers to World renown Restaurants in London and the Shires, the brands are synonymous for both quality and taste.
